Our values and our commitment to sustainability and respect for the environment take a step forward, and we enter into a partnership with Ocean Waste Plastic (OWP).

OWP is the sustainable solution to the environmental problem of ocean pollution, creating containers and other packaging needs with recycled plastic as OWP = each packaging generates a plastic removal from the ocean and rivers 1:1. 

At Nirvel Cosmetics we are working closely with OWP for future joint projects, which is why a sea turtle was adopted on our behalf through the World Wildlife Fund (wwf.panda.org/) and it was named “Nirvel Cosmetics”.

More than 50% of turtles in all seas and oceans have plastic in their stomachs, which is why we must remove all traces of plastic from the oceans. Hence our collaboration with OWP, as the entity creates containers with recycled plastic as OWP = each packaging generates a plastic removal from the ocean and rivers 1:1. 

The agreement between Nirvel Cosmetics and OWP will be launched soon, and it involves a product line that will use recycled and recyclable containers. But it’s already delivering results, as it is helping to improve a sea turtle’s habitat.

National Geographic published its “Sea of Plastic” edition in June 2018, being the starting-point for bringing a serious global problem to light. Eight million tons end up in the seas every year, again, eight tons. We are undoubtedly facing an emergency situation that we have to deal with; and now there are quite a few entities, private companies, and individuals who are working to reduce plastic consumption or proposing plastic recycling and reuse. Companies such as Ocean Waste Plastic (OWP) are examples of how plastics recovered from the sea can be given a second life, creating sustainable, recycled, and recyclable new products. Reducing the consumption of plastics, especially single-use plastics, is our responsibility, as well as raising awareness on the importance of leaving a sustainable heritage to future generations.
